On Saturday 1 June, The Tina Greer Project hosted the 12 for Tina Fundraising Dinner—an evening that honoured my mum, Tina Louise Greer, and raised awareness for the issue of missing persons and the impact on those left behind.
The dinner aimed to raise funds for The Missed Foundation, the only charity supporting families of long-term missing persons, as well as provide the community with an opportunity to learn more about the issue. As someone who has lived with the impact of a missing loved one, the event was designed to share the reality of what it’s like and highlight how we can better support families of missing loved ones.

The evening brought together the community for a meaningful night filled with heart, conversation, and connection. I opened the night with a poem about what it's like to have a missing loved one go missing, spoke about my mum and the significance of the event both personally and more broadly. I also spoke about the importance of lived experience and how connecting with others who have gone through something similar has been life-changing. It’s been pivotal in making sense of my own grief and in finding a sense of direction. It was incredibly meaningful to share this amazing charity with the community.

Our guest speakers, Loren O’Keeffe (Founder and CEO of The Missed Foundation) and
Professor Sarah Wayland (internationally renowned missing persons expert), shared their insights and expertise. Loren spoke to the mission of The Missed Foundation—to humanise missing loved ones, support the families left behind, and shift the national conversation around disappearance. Associate Professor Wayland, whose frontline work and research have focused on trauma, ambiguous loss, and the needs of those affected, offered a compassionate and deeply informed perspective on the complexity of missing persons cases.
The evening also featured a live performance by Grace Fuller and a raffle. In total, over $14,000 was raised to support The Missed Foundation and its vital work across Australia.
A special thank you goes to those who made the raffle possible: Patagonia Manly and the Nolan family for their generous contributions, as well as Rydges Darling Square, Rydges Surry Hills, QT, GWS Giants, Sydney Restaurant Group, and Sometimes Always. Your support helped make the night what it was.
The dinner was an opportunity to remember my mum, Tina Louise Greer, and to continue sharing her story. Having rituals like this feels like an essential part of living with a missed loved one and ensuring their essence is never lost.
